Playa drain trail

The Playa Drain Trail project transforms a 3.4-mile corridor into a scenic community asset through a collaboration between the City of El Paso, El Paso Water, and the Paso del Norte Health Foundation. A highlight of the path is the student-led public art initiative, where Creative Kids mentored YISD students to create site-specific murals. These vibrant designs were fabricated into durable tiles and installed directly into the trail floor to serve as artistic path markers. Representing local culture and native wildlife, these "ground murals" provide a colorful, guided journey for all who walk the trail.
